A father outlives his daughter / myLot

I was at a funeral Sunday. The lady that passed away was 69 years old. She died on the day of her brother’s birthday. This will surely make his future birthday celebrations bittersweet. While there, I learned that her father, who now outlives his daughter, just celebrated his 99th birthday in the beginning of March. I truly hope that he gets to live way past his 100th birthday. This is a strange world we live in... Sometimes younger people pass away way before older ones, leaving this Earth way too soon.

That is sad indeed. Life is weird. Parents really morn them more when this is the case. Not fare.

@lovebuglena .......You do it with as much love as you can. There is no 'good' way to pass that info along to a parent.

it is sad but it is happening. just like there are a lot of young people that get sick just like that.

I would not want to outlive my child (if I had one). My grandmother outlived my mother, and that crushed her. She was relieved to finally pass away. Her poor brother thought. I hope this doesn’t scar him too much.

I’ve heard that with married couples when one person passes away the other soon follows. And I’ve actually seen it happen to some people I know. How sad!
