The quake was huge 7.2 magnitude and struck at the most crowded hour when everyone is out and about and that was during rush hour. There have been 736 injured and 77 left stranded. There are 7 people known to be dead. 77 buried in underground tunnels. 50 people are missing who were traveling on four minibusses. Buildings have collapsed. Let us put in a prayer for all and I hope if we have anyone who is from that side of the world they are safe.

@LadyDuck when I lived in NYC a handful of times in my life I felt the ground shift under my feet. Nothing every happened but I always crossed myself because if the city was hit by an earthquake I would hate to think what would happen with all those skyscrapers and the subway system

@RasmaSandra - I am not comfortable using the subway system in no matter which city exactly because of earthquakes. I am so scared at the idea to be "buried alive"

I heard about that in the news. Earthquakes are terrible even though in some countries (such as Taiwan or mine) houses are made anti-seismic. Still, there are always people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That's awful. Prayers. It would be so scary to be alive trapped in an underground tunnel

I watched some of it on the news. So, so terrible. Massive destruction and there will be many lives lost when it's all said and done, but with such a mess it will be a long time before that happened.
They showed some videos that traffic cameras had picked up as well, and it was terrible.

That's a large magnitude earthquake. The most serious earthquake in Taiwan in 25 years. Hope those missing will be found alive.

That's really pathetic. Wish the people injured and who suffered a loss get to normal life soon.

How sad. I had not heard about this earthquake, just the one that hit New Jersey but no one was hurt in that one.
