So Guys, I am here after few years and tomorrow is Eclipse!!! In India, people donot eat cooked food on eclipses for that time. It might sound ritualistic but I believe it is more scientific. Early day monks were so scientific, they built up these rituals or rites to make mere ordinary people understand!! But with time, these rituals get polluted and people do believe blindly without any introspection!! What are your do's and don'ts on eclipses???

The only think we don't do is to look at the sun without special eyeglasses. I know that according to your superstition people believe that any food cooked while an eclipse happens will be poisonous and non pure. In Italy, it is believed that flowers planted during a solar eclipse are brighter and more colorful than flowers planted any other time of the year..

I agree with the responders here, what is don't do is looking directly without protection. Moreover, when the eclipse occurred I was fasting.

Just like Anna, the only thing I donĀ“t do is to look at the eclipse with no sun glasses. And they should be special ones, not the ones you buy at the side walk. There is a very beautiful story in Spanish about a sun eclipse. In fact, now that I remember there are at least 2 very different stories about them.
