MRI in a few hours....

I'm still catching up on here. Very behind as I've been absent here for so long.
On the 20th of March an MRI was attempted on me. But due to having a Viral Infection at the time, I assume it played part in me not being able to finish the whole lot of scans. I have had an MRI before. Just once when my neck was being checked (found I had arthritis last year I think it was). And though it wasn't pleasant, I still made it through.
But last month when attempting a brain scan, while on the 3rd scan it started to feel as if I was spinning around the room. My head felt so dizzy, started to feel very sick and like I was going to pass out so I quickly pressed the button. The dudes who were running the test were fast to get me out. I said sorry so many times because I felt awful for making it all stop. They were understanding which was nice.
The main dude asked me if I wanted to go back in but I just couldn't. So it's being attempted again this afternoon. I'm trying hard to be calm because I want this scan done. I need to know my brain is ok. The whole point of this is to rule out Multiple Sclerosis (been having unwanted body sensations).
Not only am I worried about the MRI and later on, the results. But yesterday was my mum's anniversary. She passed away from a brain aneurysm. I now feel....strange about laying down in an MRI to get a brain scan the day after my mum's anniversary who passed from something to do with her brain. I don't know if that can be understood by anyone with what I mean. I just feel strange about it.
I've been sick 6 months now. And on top of this, new things this past month or 2 with strange and sometimes scary body sensations. It's too much.

I know that an MRI can be very stressful. My husband had the same because he suffered of migraines all the time, he arrived to keep still and it did not last so long.
I understand while you feel more relaxed, you think to your Mom and she gives you comfort. I am sure everything will be fine, just relax and think to something pleasant.
If you are too stressed, you can request a very light relaxation medication to settle nerves during an MRI.

@VivaLaDani13 They found nothing wrong with my husband, but his short term memory has totally gone, he can remember nothing.
I think there is nothing wrong taking those calming nerves tablets before you go, but you can ask them a light medication if you feel too nervous. You should be also offered earplugs and/or headphones to make the noise sound less loud.

@LadyDuck I'm so sorry Anna. I'm kinda confused that nothing was found yet something is wrong with his memory. I'm not a doctor or anything but doesn't make sense. I'm sorry either way.
I did get ear plugs and then headphones over that.

@LadyDuck I hope all went well with your husband's results.
Thank you Anna. I will just try to think of something pleasant. I have read online that people can have something to help them get through. I haven't had the people there for the MRI say anything about it. I wonder if I can take a tablet here at home. I have these sleepy / calming nerves tablet. I don't know. Was just about to make a cup of tea. Chamomile tea or this herbal tea to hopefully settle nerves.

@jstory07 I might have some tablets that could work. Hopefully they can do the trick if I take them. Thank you for the suggestion.

It does feel claustrophobic in there. When I was to get my MRI, I was worried how I would manage being in a small tight space. The technician told me to not move an inch and just go to sleep while inside. HA! Like I could sleep in such a situation. But I did close my eyes and forcibly thought of pleasant things while in there. You know daydreaming and stuff.
The mind wanders often but had to put it back on track by actively thinking about it. Don't worry, you will find your way through this.

@Daljinder My brother came around yesterday and he told me he fell asleep when he had his MRI done many years ago. How the hell is that possible?
I agree with you. To fall asleep in such a place!
Thank you DJ.

@Daljinder They told me before going in. It took 15-ish minutes. Which doesn't sound that long but it felt longer.

@VivaLaDani13 You can ask them how long you will be inside. I did ask to have a sense that it has a time limit and mentally prepare yourself accordingly.
