Dear friends, The extended family gathering yesterday was good mostly. Courtney's great aunt cooked brunch/late breakfast for all of us. I say "all of us", but it wasn't as large a gathering as we're used to. Nonetheless, I'm very glad for those of us who could go. Not having Courtney's grandparents (and great grandmother) there is something I don't think we'll ever get used to. We all still miss them more than words adequately would explain. All we can do is our best to focus on the Loved ones who remain, and carry those we've lost in our hearts.

It’s good that you still get together even though the matriarchs/patriarchs that hold the family together are gone. Our family still tries to get together regularly, but since Covid the tradition has been broken. More of us have moved farther away, so it’s difficult for everyone to meet.
