Tuesday Coffee Chit Chat

Happy Tuesday Everyone! it's a sunny morning here today and it's going to be warm. Looks like a beautiful day ahead and I'm planning on spending a little time outside. I might take the dog for a short walk. Yesterdays eclipse was a bit disappointing. It only got semi dark and seemed more like an overcast day than other areas that got the whole experience. I did watch it on tv so that was interesting. What really amazed me was the amount of people who traveled to witness the eclipse. As I've mentioned before, I'm trying to get rid of things we will never use. Even though I have no use for some things, I'm holding on to them for sentimental reasons than anything else. Every time I go to put something in the donation box I hesitate and then change my mind. I keep telling myself it's just "stuff" and it's time to let it go. Aside from my slower than molasses organizing there isn't much else going on here. The usual house stuff needs to be done and the age old question of what to make for dinner. My daughter has a dentist appointment after work tonight so I want to make something easy so we can eat when she gets home. Hope everyone is having a good day today

My brother fainted due to low sugar level. He was sent to the hospital. Doctor would like to have a thorough medical check for him.

I am having trouble going through stuff for my donation box too. The church is having a garage sale to raise money for the youth on June 7th, and they said if we have things to donate now, they will take them. I’d like to get rid of things now. I have several brand new items someone is going to be lucky to get. Brand new running shoes never worn, brand new silverware, some art that looks brand new…I feel guilty donating , but it’s for the best. I really wish those running shoes had fit! I hope your daughter’s mouth isn’t too sore.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, I understand that. I’ve got clothes of my moms still in my closet, and I can’t decide how many to keep. It feels wrong to donate any, but silly not to as well. It’s been almost 9 years! I imagine those plates you can’t decide on are beautiful! It has to be a tough choice. The unused shoes were on sale, and sales can’t be returned online. I took a chance, but now at least someone will be getting a good deal.

Having brand new shoes that don't fit is so frustrating. I guess you would have returned them if you could have. I have shoes on the shelf in my closet that I'll never wear so they will go for donation. What I'm dealing with right now are things that have sentimental value but I'll never use them (like China plates that were my aunts).

I didn't walk far but yes, we did a very short walk. My knees aren't complaining much today but as the weather is changing the next few days they will probably act up. Gee, I wish you could move and find something that isn't so horrible and stressful.

I worked from the office tower yesterday. I looked down from the 7th floor and saw people looking up with their eclipse glasses on. I could see the bright reflection in their lenses from inside and decided that probably wasn't a good thing for me to do. It was a great day in my life today. It is warm and sunny and nice and I took the day off and spent it with Grandpa and the girls here. It was fun.

Can't beat a combination of nice weather, the twins and grandpa. What a great way to spend the day. Your probably ok looking at the eclipse through the office windows and lenses of the people down below.

I also cannot understand those who drive for miles to see an eclipse. It rains here, I have to think what to make for dinner.

@Marilynda1225 People are crazy, we can follow those events on TV or on Internet in our days.

I wouldn't drive that far for an eclipse nor would I want to be stuck in such crowds

I took photos of some things then donated them. I also took photos of all our first son's baby cards before I destroyed them. It will be less for others to throw out when we're gone.

Decluttering is always a slow project. It seems that stuff increases rather than decreases. Have a good day.
