The people in my building and I spent about an hour outside around midnight last night when our fire alarm went off. The Fire Department was called and they came to check things out. It was a false alarm. Thank God for that. At least it wasn't winter, with ice and snow. It was quite calm and just a tad chilly.
I have lived in this building for going on 9 years and this never happened until the past 2 years. We have had 3 to 4 false alarms counting this one last night. No one is pulling the fire alarm because if they did, it would be obvious as it has a crystal or glass thing inside that would break. I wish they would find out why we are having these false alarms.

We have smoke detectors in our apartments. Three in a small one-bedroom apartment and one of them is almost directly above the stove. There are some things I make that I have to put the exhaust fan on to prevent the smoke detector from going off. Especially if I use a toaster. Making popcorn on the stove causes it to go off too. I think it is a stupid location for a smoke detector.

So sorry about your situation. It is complicated that this keeps happening and the fire department didn't find out yet what is happening. I hope they can solve this soon.

We had a false alarm. It turned out to be one of the sensors in one of the bedrooms that needed to be replaced. Have a good day.
