My former neighbor is out of her mind

Anyone who regularly reads my posts know that I often watch a French bulldog when his owner is at work or out for a long time. It is fine in that he is well behaved, not destructive, doesn't bark, and he LOVES my orange tabby cat Charlie. They are BFFs. I always watch him when I can and she needs me to do so. . . for free. My downstairs neighbor was here yesterday telling me that the former neighbor was asking about her walking the dog WHILE HE STAYS HERE FOR 5 DAYS WHEN SHE IS ON VACATION. Um I get that I have no life but she didn't even ask me about having Whiskey here full-time for many days. I'll be working those days so she would have to bring a crate for him as well as his anxiety medication. I literally knew nothing about this plan until yesterday. I never agreed to watch the dog for days. I *can* do it but WTF. To just assume I'd do it is rude.

Ugh I don't tolerate inconsiderate people. Hope you can work this out with her Chicaa.

That is rude. I'd call her out on it.

I´d tell her that I can´t do it. In those situations I don´t mind telling a lie and saying that I won´t be home. Nobody can dispose of my life

Wow, nothing like taking advantage of you! That was rude not to at least ask or discuss it with you ahead of time.

She just keeps pushing and pushing a little further each time. I would tell her I can't do it.

I wouldn’t do it. I know you like the dog, but it’s her responsibility to plan for it. If you had an emergency, where would the dog go? Didn’t she move in with her mother? Surely she has family to help her out. That’s a big favor, the price of boarding a pet here is pricey.

Right - to assume you'll do it is taking advantage . My sister and her husband would always do that to my parents - they'd drop their dog off while they went on long vacations. My parents like animals, but it gave them anxiety to be responsible for my sister's pet.

I would say no, even if I was available. Only because of the way this was handled. Or maybe if I could mind the dog I would ask for a return favor in advance.

You are so right she should have asked you. On the other hand, I am glad that Whiskey would be looked after by you just sorry for the crate business, I really feel sorry for that dog, Now I have another question if she can get the other neighbor involved could it be possible for her to watch Whiskey while you are are work walking him etc and then you take him when you are home? Just asking this is rather confusing. No wonder the poor dog is anxious,

She is stepping on you. I feel horrible for that pup to be on medication cause his human doesn't care for him well.
