I seasoned some chicken quarters and baked them. Put 2 ears of corn in the oven with the shucks on. Added Mashed Taters, and had about 10 very small bites of Chocolate Ice Cream. I was at Piggly Wiggly Saturday and they had fresh corn on sale. I was checking to see if the rows were even, but leaving it intact. A guy came up and was looking at the corn. He held one, and told me.."This is how you do it" I laughed and told him, but I cook it with the leaves on, put my 2 ears in the buggy, and left. I guess he thought I didn't know how to shuck an ear of corn...Surprise! LOL I am so full...when I was a kid staying at my Aunt's house, she would go out to this farm and get the first crop of corn. She took care of a little boy, and at dinner, she would fix the corn..about 8 ears of corn. She snapped them into and boiled them. Stevie and I would have a contest to see who could eat the most corn. I ate 6 half ears of corn with some fried chicken. Stevie was a lot younger than me, and he lost he only at 4 1/2..could not finish that half of a half. LOL We had contests on fried chicken legs another time...my aunt made the best fried chicken in the world. She seasoned the flour with Garlic Powder and celery salt I learned later. I ate 9 of them and Stevie at 7. Now days I can barely finish one leg quarter...a spoon of potatoes and ONE ear of corn (2 halves). LOL

I use to eat a lot myself back in the day but as I aged I got where my eating habits changed, where I didn't eat a lot but once a day.

It's amazing how much some kids can eat. We eat so much less than we once did.

I do not boil mine anymore...so much easier to rinse off the corn, trim the stalk a little, and put them in the oven with the leaves on them. About 20-30 minutes at 350° take them out, use an oven mitten and pull the leaves and silk off, they are just as good if not better than boiling. But it is good to open up the leaves before you buy them, and check to see if the corn is in straight rows, and not too big kernels.
