Not a great start to the day!

This morning I had arranged to call on a friend first thing, but when I got there she wasn’t yet back from taking her children to school. Her husband invited me in and made me a coffee, then he told me that he was still only half awake – he had accidentally poured bran flakes into his cup of coffee instead of a cereal bowl! He tipped those out and started again, with fresh coffee and a clean bowl, and managed to get things right this time – but no sooner had he turned his back to say something to his wife who had now arrived home, than the cat leapt up onto the kitchen counter and started eating the milky bran flakes!
