Tonight is the White House Press Correspondents Dinner

This is a beloved event in Washington DC. Members of the press and celebrities get together to listen to the president and then to watch a comedian roast the president, politics, and the press in general. It is an annual tradition though it was skipped for the 4 years that Trump was president because he is too thin-skinned to handle people making fun of him. It happened but he refused to attend. Interestingly it was this very event in 2011 that supposedly inspired him to run for president in 2016. He attended the dinner and President Obama openly mocked him. You can see him just seething in the video when Obama is making jokes about him. It is said that it was that experience that convinced Trump to run for president and then try to undo everything Obama accomplished when he took office. Anyway tonight is the famed dinner. The public part starts broadcasting at 7 pm. This year's comedian is Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost. *not gonna lie--no clue who that is** I've really enjoyed the past 2 years with Trevor Noah and Roy Wood Jr. They were hilarious.
