Oh come on! Who didn’t see this topping the list??? I mean, I might be the biggest musical weirdo you know, but I am predictable on occasions. And this, of course, is one of those occasions. Happy 40th birthday to this classic tune that tops my list from 1984. #1: The Boys of Summer - Don Henley One of my favorite songs from the 80s, period. It’s on my 100 favorites list. While, overall, I enjoyed Henley’s first solo album a little more, the second album was far more “adult” and deep. And, I’ll say this, for a guy who can’t let go of the Eagles in the 2020s he did a superb job of shaking off their “country rock” reputation in the 1980s!! This has become a classic, not only of the 80s, but in Henley’s long and storied career, both solo and with the Eagles. What a gem Thanks for reading.
