It's always raining somewhere

It's gray skies at my house. Probably going to rain sooner than later. I made it to the pool today for my 30 minutes of Move it or Lose it. Home this afternoon, my mind on my Beau Teak Siamese. He has chronic health issues that refuse to go away. Last year the Vet pulled thirteen teeth. That was supposed to make Beau's world better. It didn't. I finally got ahold of the Vet- it is not easy to reach them due to their being over busy. May 10th I take Beau to the Vet. He will need anesthesia so that the Vet can open his mouth and examine all the achey places that make Beau cry. A cat is not just a cat. Each one is an individual. Most nights I fall asleep, Beau next to me, his arm reaching out to me. He is a touchy feely boy. I have no idea what the Vet can do. Beau has been on antibiotics many times. How to give him quality of life? I will give the Vet another chance to come up with some ideas and hope for the best.

That is breaking my heart. I don’t like it when cats or any animals suffer. I hope you have a great vet.

@DianneN I drive half an hour each way on the nasty freeway to get to the Vet. He is a caring guy. I hope he has some ways to help that I never heard of.

@sallypup I’m sure you do the best for your babies. My son’s girlfriend has two kitties that are under the vet’s care. And you know how costly that is. I’m going to prat for Beau. No baby should ever have to suffer - ever.

I am so sorry your kitty is struggling. I, too, have a cat with health issues, but nothing like what your fur baby is experiencing. I will pray that yall find answers soon and he will not hurt. I am glad that you are fighting so hard for him. Pets are part of the family.

@gnatsmom I'm sorry about your fur kiddo. I hate the reality that Vets are very expensive these days and on we go.

@gnatsmom You're a loving Mom. It's hard with rescued animals. I hope things work out better for you. I live with a Blue Heeler dog that easily gets triggered and barks loudly. Its a horrid situation and he is a rescue so who knows why my sneezing bothers him? He is very good at heeling on leash but at home he can be a pill to live with.

@sallypup It is hard to care for our pets the way would like because things are so expensive. All we can do is our best and make sure our pets know they are loved. My cat has feline Trichotillomania. It is caused by anxiety. We don't know the source of her anxiety because she was dumped off at our house back in October 2023. We can only speculate. But one thing that does trigger her anxiety is being shut up where she can't get out, so taking her to the vet really freaks her out. There is a new vet in our area that makes house calls. I am gonna give them a try, but I know it is going to be really expensive. We have paid off a couple of things, so I will put that money toward her care.

Aww, that is sad. I wonder if they have cat dental specialists? I know they do for other things like cardio and kidney.

@snowy22315 I'm sure there are animal dental specialists. I can't afford one. The regular Vet charged about 2 thou to pull 12 teeth last year.

Sunny skies here, So sorry about Beau I will put him in my prayers, I just hope for the best and hope that Beau can be made to feel better, I am always on the side of animals and looked this up. If perhaps the answer is to remove all the teeth take a look at this link.

Thank you @RasmaSandra. I hate that every single tooth must be pulled. Thirteen was enough but yes, the Vet thought pulling what he did would improve Beau's health.
