The laundry is done. It just needs to be folded and put away. I made and recieved my grocery order, and got the groceries in the house. When I suggested doing George's tube, he growled at me, but we got it done. Now I can leave him alone until six or seven tonight. Although, we've been getting his third done closer to nine at night. I'm going to have to change that if I want him to eat a meal of solid food at dinner. But, working on it. The last two days, I've done everything through the tube. He's close to his goal weight, so that's good. We're back to where he started before he was hospitalized. I think he's starting to feel better for it, too.
He went out back to enjoy the afternoon sun and I got the groceries in. Later tonight i'll take the stuff down to the curb.

George is happy, too. He said he wanted me taking care of him. Which I have been.

@DianneN Yeah, I know. George and I have always been fairly private people. While he has no issue striking a conversation with a complete stranger, that doesn't mean he wants them in our home telling us how to live our lives.
Do not get me wrong, I am thankful for the therapy that he recieved, and the existance of home health. Despite my misgivings, it did make getting back to normal a bit easier. Especially with the addational therapy. But, having them push a shower, just made my eye twitch and made me want to punch someone.

George has a stomach tube? That's what I'm reading into what you've explained. I'm so glad that he's close to his goal weight!

Yes, he has a peg tube. He had issues swollowing after the stroke, and while it's improved we need to make sure he's getting enough. He doesn't have much of an appiate, so we're working on improving that.

@kaylachan When people don't feel good, it's hard work getting them to eat a balanced diet.

@kobesbuddy Oh, I know. My problem is getting him to eat enough. During his hospitalization, he ate less and less in one sitting. I know the up and down struggles with meals didn't help any.

I still have a few things to get done today, but it's to warm out. I'll get them when the sun goes down a bit.

That's great. I order them when we need them. Except for the few items we have to get in-person.

Who knew it would take a stroke for that to happen.

I'm glad your hubby has regained his weight. My hubby will have to do the same thing when he comes home. Have a good day.

The big thing, is you need to be patient about his eating. Unlike eorge, He doesn't have a feeding tube. But, unlike George, he seems to want to eat.

@LindaOHio That's something at least. Especially in the begining. I know you can obviously type. So, you can make a list of his favorite meals. If a diatition doesn't speak with you, I will tell you what ours told us to help George gain weight. High protian meals. Don't worry about carbs (unless he's diabetic) and fats. You'll want both for him to regain his strength and weight.

@kaylachan Yes, he will be back on Meals on Wheels and then he eats mostly frozen dinners since neither of us can really cook anymore.
