I don't understand why blue and indigo are two colors of the rainbow. I have liked red although my favorite color is dusty pink and I love the colors of raspberry, rose, and all others in the red spectrum. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. It is such a nice experience to see a rainbow. It is almost spiritual. Now if you see a double one you might be in for some better luck or something special. Mother Nature at her finest. Here are some interesting facts about the seven colors of the rainbow:
Violet-- People who are around the color report feeling kind and empathetic. Violet is associated with individuality and selflessness. Where red is the longest wavelength violet is the shortest.
Indigo-- For years scientists have disputed whether indigo should be one of the rainbow's colors since it is so hard to distinguish. The question comes from whether it is blue or purple. It is both. The color indigo represents spiritual attainment, wisdom, and intuition.
Blue-- Is the color of the sky and expressed as the heavens. When we want to relax we often think of and seek out water. It represents peace, stability, and relaxation.
Green-- In the middle of the rainbow it is the color of life and symbolizes wealth. One interesting fact about the color is that the human eye is capable of distinguishing more variations of the color green than any other color in the rainbow. It also represents growth, nature, and health.
Yellow-- This is the happiest of the colors of the rainbow. It represents warmth and energy and is associated with clear thinking, communication, and happiness. The color yellow is also linked to inspiration. If you are starting a new endeavor put some yellow out where you can see it. It is hard to miss something that is yellow and this is probably why the highlighter color is yellow.
Orange-- This color is usually happy and makes people feel comfortable and friendly. In the chakra system, it represents energy and is often associated with fertility, creativity, and sexuality. It represents endurance, strength, and perseverance.
Red-- This color has the longest wavelength of any of the colors and is full of strong emotion and vibrancy. For Christians, it represents both wisdom and energy. For Hindus and Buddhists red is grounding and corresponds with the Muladhara chakra. In China red is the most revered color. It also represents passion, war, and the strongest form of love as depicted in the red rose. It also represents the devil and evil.
I hope you found this as interesting as I did.

I never thought much about it, honestly. It could have to do with light rays and how the eye percieves them. I'm sure that has something to do with it. Either way, if I see a rainbow at all, I smile. I have next to no distance vision so it's rare when I do.
