My internet speed today

I have been dealing with a frustrating internet issue lately and thought I'd share. I signed up for a plan that promised 400 Mbps speed for 1,699 pesos monthly, but since April 27th, I've been stuck at around 90 Mbps. I reported it right away, but it took until May 6th to get fixed. Then, today, the same slow speed popped up again. I called the tech support early this morning, and they sent a technician to check my modem. It was okay and the technician said there's just a need for a speed alignment, then he left. This afternoon, while doing household chores, the technician called again to check my internet speed. It was still at 90 Mbps. He suggested to shutdown the modem and wait for 20 minutes before turning it on again since they are still in the process of reconfiguration. Surprisingly, it worked! My speed shot back up to where it should be. This got me thinking - why does internet stuff have to be so finicky? Have any of you dealt with similar headaches? How did you handle it?

Our Internet connection is good, we usually do not have problems. It happened once that we had to turn off the router during the night because they were upgrading the line.

It's great to hear that your internet connection is usually reliable. It must have been a bit inconvenient to have it down for an upgrade, but at least it was a one-time occurrence.

@annierose It was only during one night, from midnight until 4 in the morning. We never use Internet during those hours.

@LadyDuck It’s always a relief when maintenance doesn’t disrupt your daily routine. It’s good to know that your service provider considered the timing that would least affect users.
