Van Buren police sergeant rescues a man trapped inside of a burning home

A male who was inside of a burning home in Paw Paw Michigan home who could have been rubbed out had he not called for help on Tuesday morning overnight. A Van Buren County Sergeant who answered the emergency call whose name was not mentioned entered the burning bedroom where the fire was on the bed where the man could not get out of his bed and get into his wheelchair by risking his life by getting the fire victim out of his bed and get him out of the room to the back of the burning home where the Mattawan Fire Department and the Paw Paw Police Department were able to take the fire victim by an ambulance to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns to his legs to a local hospital. The condition of the fire victim is not known. The police sergeant was treated by the paramedics at the scene of the fire for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire, on the bed? I hope that the man was not smoking in his bed, and this caused his fire, or maybe his electric blanket caught fire. He was lucky to escape if the fire started elsewhere, and had already come into his bedroom onto his bed. A brave act to save him indeed.
