It's Been 6 Days Since...

The last time I wrote here was 6 days ago. I just have not had it in me to even try to write something. Now I have to figure out what to do and how to turn this long wait to get my future house into something productive and something to keep me motivated to create art in such a small space while living around the boxes I have already packed. Losing my garden has been difficult. But there are enough flowers left that my garden will bloom yet until this company actually destroys it. Right now, the new company is not even taking care of mowing the lawn. Taking Daisy outside to do her business is a struggle because the grass is getting so tall that it is almost as tall as she is. The company has only had it mowed once, and I am doubtful that they had it done. Possibly the city had it mowed. Certainly, it was not some corporate landscapers doing the job. It looked like an oldish man and maybe his daughter. This is what we had to destroy our gardens for??? This is how we are supposed to believe this new company cares about any of us? We have been without a manager since Feb 28th and our maintenance person since the beginning of March. All we have is a person coming from the corporate office twice a week to get the bare necessities done. Yet they pushed this parking lot remake through which took away some of our needed handicapped parking spots. Mowing the lawn? I guess they don't see that as a necessity.
In the meantime, I still have my art which is so therapeutic for me. Especially painting. Tomorrow when my cleaning lady comes, I am going to have her move the boxes that a friend put in the wrong place. She was supposed to remove the boxes from my closet and restack them neatly into the closet so more boxes could be added to the closet. Instead, she stacked them between my bed and the wall where many of my art supplies were stored in drawers. She made it so that I could not get to that side of my bed, which is the only side I can get into bed from. I don't sleep in the bed at this time but want to eventually. But I do still need to be able to get into those drawers. I do not understand why my friend did not understand this. She was so happy with how she had helped me that I did not have the heart to tell her that she didn't finish what needed done. Well, since then my packing helpers have begun filling the closet again so that many of these items will not fit neatly into the closet. So, I am going to have my cleaning lady move what can't be put into the closet out into my living room or in other closets so that I can once again get into my other art supplies. It would not have been such a big deal if I had gotten to move when I planned to. But waiting another 5 months to a year means I need to be able to get to all my art supplies so I can stay sane.
It is truly amazing how much gardening and art can keep a person from having to deal with depression. But in my case, it is true. Losing my garden, having to wait to get moved, and not being able to get to a lot of my art supplies has really taken more of a toll on me than I expected.
One thing I decided was to go ahead and buy this new art tool I was putting off until after I moved. For a short wait, it made sense to wait to order it. Now that I have to wait so long, I ordered the item and got it yesterday. But in this small apartment with so little space, I have to yet figure out what to do with things that are still in the way of my being able to create my art.
I am sorry for such a long post. This moving delay and loss of my garden are not the only things I am dealing with that are distressing and difficult to deal with. But those things are not for public discussion and are very hard to deal with. I will be alright. My helper tomorrow will help me figure out how to organize this small space better. Art is a necessity for me.
Oh, and a friend here is moving out Monday. She just told me today. She is going into an assisted living facility. She asked me if I wanted a plant she has nurtured for 19 years. I said yes. So that will add nicely to my indoor houseplant garden. Another friend has a big supply of yarn she wants to give me. The yarn I already have is packed, so having yarn at the ready again will also help me continue to create until I finally move.

My art supplies are not packed. Some are out here in the living room with me. But others are in drawers that are currently blocked by packed boxes that were placed where they are because my friend did not listen to what I wanted her to do. Once I move these packed boxes, I can get to the rest of the art supplies.
