I suppose we all do, some more than others, since here we are on myLot. I have mentioned before that I write poetry and submit a lot more than ever gets published, but what the heck, it keeps my brain working a lot and I enjoy it.
BUT, did you ever hear of Creative non-Fiction, or Flash Fiction. I don't want to write descriptions of those sun-genres here, but IF you like to write and maybe even get paid sometimes, there are hundreds of places to send little 100-300 word efforts out there. Look up the definitions.
There is even one I read that is one word, "Ha!" after a very long title and it is very funny, but I'd better not post a link here since it could be offensive to some It's about a woman breaking up with her boyfriend and the title sets it up so well.
Anyway, Write On and have fun here or elsewhere.

I've never been one for writing poems but I do enjoy reading them. I used to write articles/blogs for a site and made quite a bit but then they changed things all around and I had to quit. It was fun because you could write on many topics. I have heard of flash fiction but never really understood what it was. Sounds like you have a lot of fun finding and writing poems.

@Tampa_girl7 A reasonable question. My favorite sad short story is also quite brief:
For sale.
Baby shoes.
Never worn.

Nor mine, but I am giving a lot of thought to Creative no-Fiction.

@JamesHxstatic I wonder if I should get involved. I have many short stories and poems that I never published. Do some people still read? We live in the "era of Trump."

It is a very big deal. Many sites and print journals publish all those things I mentioned.

@JamesHxstatic I got your message thanks and replied but I can't see the 'send' button. It's off the end of the page and I don't know how to make it appear. But thanks very much and I trust you'll see this. The link works so I'll check it out more fully soon.

When the mood strikes, I might write fan fiction, but I'll admit I haven't written in a while.
