Mine would be
1. Nation
2. Self
3. Family
4. Society
5. God
What would be yours?
In a way, we are all obliged to give our country a good and useful citizen. Consequently, I have to ensure that I take care of me, and my family. It also becomes my duty to ensure that my actions or inaction does not disturb another person from being a useful citizen to this country (societal obligation), and finally, the god is the monitor, sorta. Hope my choices were right.
Are you clear about these choices if you are ever faced with them? And have you?

My priorities would be:
1 Self - I can be of no help if I am not well and healthy
2 Family
3 Society
4 Nation (where I live - not necessarily MY nation)
5 God
If I am well, I can take care of my husband, I can also help those in need around me. A strong nation is also important, to protect us as individual and then God, to guide us.

I have
1. Self( learnt it a hard way)
2. Family
3. Society
4 nation
5 God
I start with myself. If I am good, I can take care of the rest. My journey begins with self love and self respect. Then family, as they are the basic unit of any society. If families are good and healthy with healthy and progressive mindset, we get a healthy progressive society. And in turn a strong nation. So, I start working with the smaller unit, much in my control and slowly the impact is on larger picture.
And by doing my duties consciously for myself and my family, I am inching closer to GOD.

@vandana7 I like to keep the priorities where I am in control and more to contribute. I would lay my life for my nation anytime. I come from a defence background. That flows in my veins.

@arunima25 I don't come from defence background. But I feel, at this stage of my life, with no more responsibilities other than my father, who too can be taken care of, there should be something I can do for my country. Fearing physical pain is natural. But say, there was a plane hijacked, and my country was being asked to pay huge ransom, then I would not let it pay anything, instead die for it by walking towards the hijacker. One life less for my country to compromise on. That kind.

God a top most priority? Why he is the last with me...is, as I understand, throughout history religions have been wiped out by invaders. Or at least pushed out. We have Parsi community in India. They were originally the Zorashtrians (an extremely peaceful set of folks) from today's Iran. Invaders pushed them out. Those who remained were converted to Islam forcibly. Zorashtrians survived as refugees out here. Their contribution to the country is enormous. But they are minorities. Their numbers are limited, and dwindling. Had they had a nation of their own, that religion would survive. Their god who I believe is good, would too. Going forward, it will not be around say for another 500 years or even 300 years. So that is the reason, I say nation first.

I would have to think about this more; but God would definitely have a higher priority. Have a good week.
