DARK SKYYY.. How do you feel about thunderstorms, do they scare you?

I was in and out of about 7 stores today. For some reason, my job lights up more at night and into the wee hours of the morning. So during the day I either shop or sleep. Almost every single worker in the stores kept asking me if I was “ready for the big storm” or telling me to “get home before the storm.” I didn’t really think too much about it, until I walked out of Buscemi’s. That’s when I saw the sky. Snapped this shot from my car and then drove home. Thundering now, but the sun is still shining. So it’s gonna be one of those weirdo storms. Are you afraid of thunderstorms? Do you kinda look forward to them like all the store clerks I encountered? I like them because 1.) Free car wash 2.) Free cool-down. My mom and uncle have decided we don’t need air conditioning downstairs when it’s 85 degrees in the house, they said it feels like Florida weather and they like it. Jesus Christ 107 more days here Mon. May 20th Time: 4:10 p.m. Gotta think of a good rain song Got it

I love a good, booming thunderstorm, as long as their is no damage to people or property, it's all good. I especially feel cozy when it rains really hard in the night. Very soothing.

That’s the best sleep, isn’t it? Like nature’s white noise. ;) Thanks Marie

@Melanie_Marie A great description. But it can be so soothing, like ocean waves...which, if I am on any coast at all, I listen too as much as possible.

Thunderstorms don't bother me much, unless I'm trapped out in one. If we can be home, then I honestly don't care. It's actually soothing at night. I find I sleep well at night.

I think of Garbage’s song, “I’m Only Happy When it Rains”. Last night our tornado sirens went off twice, and seven twisters touched down. So thunderstorms scare me in the spring and summer since they are often accompanied by tornadoes. As long as no tornadoes are possible, and the electricity doesn’t go off, I don’t mind them. I have a lot of conditions!

I don’t blame you! You seem to keep getting blasted by those storms and tornado/tornado warnings. And I know it’s all about your location in the U.S. I was just telling my mom about you the other day. (She lives for the excitement of bad storms and tornado warnings.) But she’s never seen one in action and the damage these things can cause. I’m sure you guys have. Thanks Amber Stay safe

I am scared of thunderstorms since I fear dealing with power outages as well as damages to the rental property.

Great photo. Thunderstorms are fascinating to me since it's something not seen often here in England.

Thanks. We get them a lot over here. Bad weather seems to love water, woods, and open spaces. It’s cool how the whole sky can go from sunny to dark in a matter of minutes once that storm starts rolling in. Thank you @Remz1193

I have been scared of bad thunderstorm since I was a child, However, if there is a good thunderstorm and I am safe inside away from the window I don't mind looking at it that is always exciting, My cats hate them Freddie goes for the closet and Tish under the bed,

Love Phil Collins. Yes, I sometimes get scared of thunderstorms. My mother does. Two of my cats get really scared of thunderstorms. They hide.

I'm not afraid of thunderstorms too much. They fascinate me. I don't like when they destroy people's homes/cars.

@Melanie_Marie I like Phil Collins and I know that song. Another could be Here Comes the Rain or is it part of that song? I would rather be inside when there are thunderstorms, but if it does it when I am out then that is life. My cat hears all loud sounds and she does not like them.

I heard plenty of thunder growing up in Texas and then there was some in southern California too, in western Oregon, where I have lived for many years now, thunder is a rare thing. The most I have heard was one night at the coast years ago, when it really turned loose. So we get a lot of rain, over 20 inches so far this year but almost no thunder/lightning.

I kind of like Thunderstorms. But not last Sunday when hail damaged my car and it was not fun to drive in.

I love the rainy season but I don't like thunderstorms because it usually brings a lot of casualty at some parts of our country.
