It’s Been A While.

Hey, everyone. I know it’s been a while. I just haven’t had the time or energy to post anywhere, so I wanted to pop in and say hello.
So, I gained a client that was kind of steady, but I decided to drop them last night. I think they were about to drop me anyway. It started fine, but my quality was slipping with them. On my end, it wasn’t a big enough pay for the work involved. I decided to go with my gut instinct and call it quits so that I could focus on more clients and my side projects. I was kind and professional, and they didn’t kick me off their team (but I’m not grabbing work from the team right now). It was the direct orders I put a stop to, but I don’t feel it’s the right time to grab their team order. Anyway, it’s fine. Sometimes, a writer and client just aren’t compatible anymore. It happens. It’s a small pay cut, but I feel lighter. I even started working for a team I haven’t touched in weeks today. One of my other main clients changed their schedule, so I’ll be working on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, but it’s fine. I got this. :)
I had a fun, NKOTB-filled weekend. Let’s see here:
Friday: Their first FULL ALBUM since 2013, “Still KIDS” dropped. The boys performed on Good Morning America, they had a short segment on Entertainment Tonight, and the Blue Bloods mid-season finale was that night (which stars one of the NKOTB members, Donnie Wahlberg).
Saturday: My “Still KIDS’ deluxe CD with a 64-page booklet arrived in the mail. I pre-ordered it back in March. The guys also had an iHeartRadio CD release party in LA, and those in attendance shared pictures and videos. iHeartRadio is releasing the audio tomorrow, I think at 7pm EST (but I need to check that), so I’m planning to listen to it while I work on my evening orders.
Sunday: They performed at the American Idol finale, which aired on ABC.
What a good time to be a New Kids On The Block fan! :D
In other news, I attended my best friend’s sister’s birthday party on Saturday. It was a nice time. I got to hold her other sister’s baby for a bit, and he’s sooo cute. He’s about four months and at the babbling stage.
Alrighty, I have a few other things to work on, and then I’m heading home from the coffee shop. OH, I answered the trivia question correctly today (who is Barbie’s little sister?), so my coffee was free. It’s the little things!
You all have a great week, stay safe, and take care! :)

That's what I've learned from working for yourself. You can be as flexible as you want and pick and chose. You're still getting paid.
