Got a Rat on My Facebook

Apparently, there is a rat in my friends list on Facebook. Everything on my FB is set to friends only, so nothing is public except the cover photo and profile photo which cannot be set to private. Today, the woman controlling this building for now mentioned that she knows I am posting things about the place I live on FB. The only way she would know is if someone I know is telling her and maybe showing her. The only things I post about this place on FB are my garden photos I have always done, including the most recent where the garden is basically gone and the pile of sticks that were put there, as well as how tall the grass has been until they finally got someone mowing regularly...at least the mowers came back today. Anything else I write about the place is only on MyLot and I am sure she doesn't know anything about this place. Anyway, spending time today updating my privacy settings and removing some people from my friends list on FB.

That is not the issue. One of my friends went behind my back and told the interim mgr that I posted things about this place on my FB which is totally my right to do so. So a so-called friend is not so much.

You may or may not have a rat. The truth is, Facebook in general is the least secure social platform. Despite a person's privacy settings, there are ways around it. Rule of thumb, if you don't want it public, don't post it.

I know. But it has to be someone who lives in this building because none of my other friends would have any reason to do this, nor would they have any connection to this interim manager as she lives over 2 hours away and commutes twice a week. Anyway, did a good clean out of my friends list and if anything else gets back to her, I will have narrowed it down considerably.

Sometimes we need to remove people from our list. Facebook isn't secure at all.

I only put people on my friends list that I actually know. It is as secure as you make it. Not everyone knows how,

i am sorry; thi must felt uncomfortable. it is nothing of this lady's concern cause you are not badmouthing her or her property but, yes, there is a rat and i hope you caught him or her

I'm sure glad you are redoing your fb page, cause there's all kinds of "RATS" that can destroy you any way they want & get away with it that's why I stopped getting on FB cause I was scammed on it.
