I can understand how Rocky Keefer who is the manager of PizzAroma which is located in Maumee Ohio felt like when a female customer ordered 16 pizzas to be picked up at the store last week only to have the customer not show up and pick up her order which caused Rocky to throw away the 16 pizzas away and lose $112 dollars.
After the loss of the pizzas was reported to social media, Travis Truesdell who is a small business owner who lives in Maumee decided to place an order for 18 pizzas and pay the bill as well as pick up the pizzas.
Travis did place the order for the pizzas a week later since small business owners do assist one another in times of need.
I know that in the case of my former employer when there were pizzas that were not sold to customers, the pizzas would be given away to a local charity.

He could have given them to the hungry. I didn't think people were doing those type of things anymore. That was good of Travis to help out the business.

That is what I was thinking that Rocky should have done with the pizzas that were not sold.

I wonder why they didn't give the pizzas to a local charity, police or fire departments. That is better than throwing them away.
Good for Travis for stepping up and helping Rocky out by buying and paying the other bill. I hope when Rocky is in a good place, he too will pass it along to someone in need.

That is what I am wondering since when there was leftover pizza, the management would give the pizzas to either a homeless shelter or others in need.

I would prefer to see them given away instead of thrown away. But that was very wrong for them to order and not show

Glad that they had Travis there to help them, However, that was not right to throw those pizzas away they could have offered them for half the price then,

That is what I was thinking that Rocky could have donated the pizzas to either a homeless shelter or donate the pizzas to the local police and firefighters to thank them for their service.

@thebos My former employer had a deal to attempt to sell pizzas in New Orleans at an event when a ship was in town for one night. When the pizzas were not sold at the event, the management decided to donate the pizzas to a homeless shelter that evening.

I am in agreement with you that any customer who does not pick up their food order is doing a disservice to the pizza parlor. It is nice to see small business owners watching out for each other.

Perhaps that female customer was a previous customer, not happy with her pizza, and wanting to get revenge of some type on the owner. A nasty act, and the owner might ask for a deposit for large orders after this.
Travis was very generous to do what he did, but I hope that he didn't eat all of those pizzas himself...

I was thinking the same thing since the pizzas could have been donated to a homeless shelter to the police and fire department as a thank you gesture.
