It is colder that cold, but that is better.

I live very near the Andes mountains, friends. That´s why we have cold temperatures even during summer at dawn.
Last year, when it rained (less than this year) the temperature in the Andes was higher than this year so it only rained there too. And the rain came down to the city in floods. The rivers were full. And many homeless people who, for some unknown reason love to make their makeshift houses near the rivers, had to be taken to shelters.
This year though, as it is much colder, there is snow in the mountains. In some places there is over 1 and a half meters of snow. But that is less worrisome for people here although we will spend more money in heating.
When I write this I think again that I take a lot for granted. I have never been as cold as poor homeless people are. And I never will be. Of course I don´t heat all my house, just the part of it that I use. But I have enough to be comfortable and well fed.
Now I´ll go to the kitchen to cook my lunch. I turned on the other heater in the dining room near the kitchen so I hope it is not so cold.
See you later.

I think the homeless may set up close to the river so it is more convenient for them to get water and even to wash. I think we all take a lot for granted too. We have no way of really knowing how and why the homeless are the way they are. What illness or reasoning do they have for being homeless. It would be a very sad life and I am very thankful for the little I have.

I just don´t understand how the homeless live. In my country there are many shelters but many homeless do not like them because there are rules there.

@marguicha .......The homeless seem to be a breed unto themselves. Many have mental illnesses and don't think or act like normal people. I saw a doc about a young man who had a mental illness and would get back on track with meds and living off the streets for a short while. Then he would think he was okay and didn't need the meds anymore so he'd quit taking them. Soon he'd be homeless again. A vicious cycle he can't break. It was very sad.

Yes, there are so many little blessings around us that we take for granted. I am grateful for all that I am blessed with. Enjoy your lunch.

I did. Now I´m thinking what to eat for dinner. I usually have small dinners.

@marguicha Even we go for a light dinner unless we have not eaten much in the day time. Our breakfast is our heaviest meal

We should always be happy with what we have

I have always had what I need. And I´m not interested in luxuries. Except, of course, a chocolate cake once in a while

We are blessed that we have a roof over our heads and central heat and air. Have a good day and stay warm and dry.

Stay grateful for the circumstances around us and don't complain. I also often feel this on several occasions but I'm still grateful.

I don´t complain. I suppose my biggest cause of complain is age. But that can´t be helped.

It's easy to think we need this and that but if we have food and roof over our head, we're really doing quite well.
