To Me This Is Common Sense

I was watching a video earlier where addiction was discussed. According to the video, people who actually had PRODUCTIVE and fulfilling things to do, were less prone to addiction. People who had healthy relationship bonds were also less prone to addiction. Now, to me, the fact that this was the case wasn't surprising. What WAS surprising, is that it took some people such a profoundly great while to figure out what to me is common sense.

I don't like things like that. That's where statistics come from and the outliers to that statistic find it harder to get the help they need. That's not just addiction though, it's for everything.

For the record, less prone doesn't mean NEVER prone, I understand that. I am all for anyone who needs help seeking it and encourage them to do so. @JordanLader

It's interesting how sometimes what seems like common sense can take a while for some people to grasp. The connection between productivity, fulfilling activities, healthy relationships, and reduced susceptibility to addiction makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Engaging in meaningful pursuits and having strong social connections can provide fulfillment and purpose, which in turn can serve as protective factors against addiction. It's a reminder of the importance of nurturing these aspects of our lives for our overall well-being.

I remember my college philosophy professor telling us that there is nothing common in common sense because the idea of commonality of an individual is different from other individuals' idea of commonality.
