Weird Sleep

I have been sleeping weirdly for several weeks now. I will nap after dinner and then wake up around 3a. and can't go back to sleep. I am a night owl anyway but lately, I have been staying up until between 4a. and 6a. on a normal night. I am binging on YouTube too. I set the alarm on the TV and fall asleep watching an episode of something. It helps if it is light-hearted and doesn't take much concentration. Sometimes I can just go to sleep without the TV being on. Most times I can't. Relaxing and falling asleep is nice but one of the cats invariably has to either start a fight with one of the others or begin meowing to go out. Their timing is perfect on many nights. If I don't get much sleep I have a headache the next day. My rose quartz helps. But, if I don't sleep I can't work on here. I can't concentrate or find any interesting subject matter to post about. Like right now for instance. Do you have trouble sleeping?

@celticeagle Yes since my relatives do not want one of the kittens to run away from the home early in the morning.

You seem to be doing fine posting wise. I do have a bad night every now and again, but nothing to serious.

@celticeagle I just remind myself, we all have them and it's okay. That's the important thing.

I can get to sleep initially - that's no problem. But thereafter I wake up every 2-3 hours and often I have trouble getting back to sleep . . . it's as if I took a nap and I'm almost well rested. And I can't sleep past 6 hours total. I hate it and wish I could sleep through the night - that hasn't happened in over a decade.

I hate that so much. Getting to sleep and then waking up and can't go back to sleep. A decade is a long time without a full nights sleep.

@much2say .......We do have to learn to live with certain things. It's a part of life. Sorry this is what you have to do.

@celticeagle It is a pain. At this point I guess I'm used to it and live with it - but it's definitely not ideal .

I rarely get more than a couple of hours a night. Very disappointing because when I retired I thought I'd get all kinds of extra sleep and naps. I hope you get a good night's sleep.

@LindaOHio .......I would think so. You don't even get into rim sleep for a couple of hours or so. That doesn't give you much time to get any rest.

@celticeagle No, I'm sure it's not; but it's how long I can sleep. I'm always tired.

Usually I don't I get into bed and close my eyes shutting out everything and manage to fall asleep. If I ever need to my natural remedy is Valerian root, I might not smell or taste great but it does the job for sleep and even for my anxiety if I get into trouble,

I have tried Valerian root before. When I am stressed or real depressed nothing helps and I am just awake. I'm glad it does the trick for you though.

I never wake rested even if I do manage to get over 7 hours of real sleep. I've been binging on In the Heat of the Night on Youtube. Bubba was such a handsome redneck.

I think age makes our sleep not as restful. Aches and pains. I have been binging on La Femme Nikita lately.

I sometimes wonder if my brain lets me dream weird when I have to go potty to help wake me up.

Early to sleep and early to rise and some exercise like walking or jogging whatever one can do is good for sleeping disorders. Limit daytime naps if you do, moreover create a restful environment before sleep like dark and quite.

Perhaps, you have some stress knowingly or unknowingly. It is better to read and do light things while going to bed.Ensure the room is also cool enough. When I have trouble sleeping, I listen to songs but do not prefer to watch as it most probably will keep me more awake.

Oh, I'm sure I have some stress. I have to use the timer so I don't listen too long.
