We almost lost Blue today

I went outside for a few minutes with my mom. When we came back Blue was near the door. He meowed at the door after we entered the house. We closed the door and he insisted and meowed for a few minutes. I opened the door because I thought that something was behind the door. And Blue ran away. He is such a scared cat. When he was outside he stopped eating for 3 or 4 days. He lost weight because he was terrified to come back. He was so thin, he seemed a different cat. My mom called his name today and he started to panic. And he came back. But I opened the door and I wasn't aware that he meowed because he wanted to run away. One day he can run away and we will never see him again. This can happen.

Well, I hope Blue does not run away and understand you only want the best for him, My two cats have never been outside and when I open the door and step out on my second-floor balcony they are curious as to what is there but also unsure to step put so that helped me a lot and neither one wants to dash outside,

Cats are curious by nature. We only have one, now. But, even still if we have to open the font door, we put our cat in another room. Most of the time he doesn't want to door dart, but they can. And, they can spook.

That's terrible. I am always afraid of this with my four cats. My mother refuses for us to microchip the cats.
