My eldest and youngest are on school trips today. My youngest is visiting an Aboriginal village with his class. They learn a lot about Aboriginal cultures in their history classes. I'm all for it. I'm glad that they go visit an Aboriginal village and experience it. My eldest is finishing grade 6 and elementary school this year. So they have a grad trip every year. It's an overnight trip for them. It's something pretty exciting for them.

I remember going on field trips when I was in elementary school, but none that were overnight, and we didn't have grad celebrations from grade 6. But when my family moved to a small town and my mom decided that we would go to the Catholic school instead of the public one we were enrolled in before, the Catholic school went up to grade 8. Then we had a "Communion Breakfast" to mark the occassion of finishing elementary, after which we toured the highschool.

I love that they are including our Aboriginal culture in the schools now. It is so important for the children to know and learn about their customs and traditions.

I'm glad they're learning about Aboriginal culture. When I was a child, my mom bought me a whole set of educational books, and I learned a lot about Native Americans, but we didn't get much in school about it.

I didn't get much in school either. I wish I did. I'm glad that my kids are learning quite a bit about it.
