Memorial Weekend

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Here in the U.S. it was Memorial Day today after the long Memorial Day weekend. Friday is when we did what we always do for the occasion - we got flowers to put on the graves of family we have lost. This year we got 11 flowers - some going back to my great-grandmother's parents, and up to the most recent loss of my grandma and grandpa last fall. As you can see in the photo, this is the back of their headstone reading "They Rode Off in the Sunset Together". That's what my grandma always wanted, for them to go together. I still don't know how it happened that way. Glad she didn't have to suffer and miss him in her final days. She did suffer for years while my grandpa was sick, and then dealing with her own health. Still can't believe they have been gone almost 7 months. After putting the flowers on the graves, we had lunch with my great aunt, and my cousin and his grandma. The rest of the weekend, and even today we didn't do anything else for the Day. Just thought I would share for those interested in what we do.

thank you.... yeah they passed away 30 minutes away from each other. We knew my grandpa was dying, but didn't know my grandma was.

Memorial Day was a great time for you to reminisce about good times, with your grandpa and grandma:) I had amazing grandparents, they have been gone for many years now.

That's a very special message on the headstone. I'm glad you remember your relatives with flowers.

That was very special to put that on their gravestone. It’s very hard to lose the ones we love, no matter the age or circumstances, they were still much loved and are much missed.
