Gas prices continue to drop in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Over the past few months, gas prices have gone way up, and then way down again. A few months back they hit a peak of something like $5.69 at my local "discount station," and then dropped to $5.25 a couple of weeks ago. I think the cost for a gallon of Regular was $5.15 when I got back from Chicago. It's $5.09 now. I have no clue whether they'll continue to drop or start heading back up as Summer proper approaches. Have gas prices been dropping where you live?

Has there been a drop? It must be so unnoticeable here . We went to a beach area a few days ago and it was crazy $6something. It's still mostly $5something here . . . but at cheapest I saw it at $4.89 (rare). I guess at the $5 level, at this point, it doesn't really matter .

I bet the price made it to $6 at Chervon near the freeway when we had our recent peak. I got some for $4.79 before the latest drop in the Barrio.

@TheHorse I tried to be more observant today since your post. There were a couple stations that seemed to have gotten to the $4.89 range again . . . so maybe it is dropping - but ever so slowly.

I hope it's not too ridiculous. Have the oil execs in your Country opened up a GoFundMe page to make sure they don't go broke?

@JudyEv Do psychologists who spent most of their careers working in bad neighborhoods to help disadvantaged kids get a similar payout? I'll have to check.

@TheHorse I think the real problem is how to spend their money. And if they get to strapped for cash, they can just resign and get a huge payout.

Irrelevant factoid: The fella who invited me to play bass in a couple of upcoming gigs is from Marion Ohio. How big is that town?

Ours actually went down a bit today, the signs I noticed said $3.59. Hopefully it will go down some more! If I had to pay what you pay, I think I would have to stay home!

@TheHorse I know how to make gas go down in price. It's guaranteed to happen. All you have to do is fill your tank completely up, ASAP. Just do it...and tomorrow, it will be a lot cheaper. It's guaranteed!

I hope they keep dropping here. But the price of gas doesn't really affect my life that much.

Heh. Oh no! Am I becoming predictable? For the record, you can put the prod aside for a day or two. I did do some editing, and a bit of writing, yesterday and the day before.

I don't know. I heard that the price of crude oil is rising. Have a good day.

Oh oh. That SHOULD lead to an increase in prices (and more profits for oil companies). But what moves gas prices is beyond me.

Wonderful news! Here in Israel the price is $7.99 a gallon, but we pay in shekels and for liters. There are 4 liters in a gallon, a liter is almost a quart. Just so happens that the price per liter was 7.99 NIS. Yeah gas is on the expensive side. I usually take the bus. . .
