I am officially in the summer savings plan with the my provider. What that means if I don't turn on my electricity and swelter during hot days I get a certain portion off my electric bill. For every hour I don't use it I get money. It stays fairly cool in here generally..but I don't think there will be too many hours I am not going to have it on during the hottest days except maybe at night. I have a tower fan in my bedroom plus the ceiling fan so that is usually enough cooling. However, any savings is good. I'll take it. Does your power company offer any special deals? I know alot have budget billing..but I just have standard billing.

I have budget billing and really don't know if our power company offers summer savings. If you can keep your eclectic usage low on days when it's not so hot it might even itself out for the days you have to use it.

Yes, maybe it doesn't hurt to sign up for it. If it is too hot you can always turn it on anyway.

Most providers have some kind of energy and money saving programs.

We had a similar system in the country but not here. We save money if you use appliances when the solar power is at its best.
