Have you read this?

I'm currently rereading Silverberg's Book of Skulls. At least, I think I'm rereading it, as it's from my own private library, but none of it seems familiar, not even the fact that each chapter is written in the first person of one of the four main characters. Which makes it difficult sometimes to figure out who's "talking". Which in turn is taking me longer to finish the book because I keep flipping back a few pages to see which character it is. If you've read it, what did you think of the constant switching of the point of view?

I haven't read that book and I think I would find it confusing if you have to keep going back to figure out which character is talking.

The four voices are college roommates of basically the same age, so they do tend to sound alike.

I've never read that but some romance authors I read change view points by the chapter. It's not hard to keep up with because they aren't going back and forth but just continuing the story.

@BarBaraPrz I agree and that is the same reason why I do not like those serials that last for years. They change the characters and you are lost.

I haven't heard of that book but I don't mind books written that way. I do have to flip back to check who's talking!

It's not to everyone's taste, and I don't think I'll read it again,

When was the last time you read the book? Sometimes I will pick up a book from my library that I read 5 years ago, and I re-read it and it is like the first time reading it. Have fun reading the book!

@BarBaraPrz Maybe you didn't read it before, and the book was just sitting on the shelf all this time. There is a book, that has been on my shelf for a long time Nana by Emile Zola that I started but never got more than 5 pages.

I haven't read this but constant changingof points of view can make for challenging reading. Al ot of books I've read lately jump from one century/generation to another. The characters in those can be hard to keep track of too.

No, I have not read that book. I would find it confusing when I don’t know who’s talking in that book.

You just might like it... the book is almost as old as you are.
