Can Trump avoid prison if he shows remorse for his criminal actions?

That is what I was reading about as I slithered into my Trump worm hole this morning. According to the lawyers I saw interviewed, criminals are treated more leniently when they show remorse for what they have done. Trump's specialty is certainly not showing remorse for his mistakes. But I did find him less aggressive and more "resigned" in the interviews I reviewed this morning. Do you think he will be able to show remorse for what he has done? I have not checked the DJT stock today. I wonder if it rose or fell based on his conviction yesterday.

I don’t think he’ll get jail time, simply because they’d have to lock 20 Secret Service agents up with him until 2041 (former presidents now only get 20 years’ of protection after they leave office). Plus, with all of the venom he’s oozed out of his mouth before, during, and after the trial, nobody — but NOBODY — would believe him if he “apologized.”

@TheHorse — sorry, I was wrong. Twice. 1. It was ten years. 2. President Obama restored it to lifetime protection.

No matter what, he can still run for President - that is what I understand. A small misdemeanor can rule out getting some jobs. What an irony!

It is odd, isn't it? I don't think our founding fathers anticipated a man like Trump.

Possibly but he is incapable of that. The DJT stock fell 5% today.

Remorse needs to come from the heart. Trump was proven guilty, there's no way he can use denial or blame somebody else. Will he go to prison? NO. Being confined to home, YES.

Being confined to home doesn't work as punishment, he can have the "ladies" come to him. His kids (except for one) are outraged at the verdict and want it overturned. Besides, if they were to send Trump to prison they would have to do a LOT of upgrading to get it up to Trump's standards!!! Of course I could lend them Petey for awhile, boy that cat can fart some noxious farts and he could sure make Trump beg for forgiveness!!!

Not remorse for what he's done but for getting caught and found guilty.

His father, Fred Trump Sr., must be kicking coals all over the place and wondering why he let Donnie take over the business.

He will never go to jail, he has been President and he has "security lifetime protection"... h cannot be protected in jail. Trump will never show remorse because in his mind he did nothing wrong... can you show remorse for something NOT wrong you did?

@TheHorse WHO should claim insanity? Surely not Trump, as he surely thinks that he is perfectly normal... same as those who think they are not affected my "old age".

@LadyDuck I just meant as a legal defense. Do you think a Georgia jury could find Trump innocent? Or even a Florida jury?

Trump is a narcissist and a sociopath. He has no remorse because he is incapable of it. I pray he does go to prison. I am no fan of Donald. I know all about his dirty dealings. If you don't already know you can learn a lot just by going to YouTube and typing in MeidasTouchNetwork. I follow all of the MTN reports and in addition you might want to watch this YouTube video: Stay informed and vote blue. That is all I have to say. Peace to you.

I was amazed at one of the posts today from one of our esteemed members. Scathing comments against the convictions...and some of the agreeable comments from members that I never thought would support Trump. See? They are still out there regardless of what happens. No, I don't think he will show remorse. Have a good weekend.

Hey may have reduced the debt and deficit, cured Covid, Improved relations with our traditional allies, and reduced crime to near zero in our most poverty-stricken neighborhoods. I'm not sure. I'd have to check. But we have laws in our Country. And we have to follow them.

Remorse? For what? First of all, in order to be remorseful one has to have done something wrong to be remorseful about. He hasn't. What he is owed is an apology for the Soros funded BS he has been put through. But it doesn't matter really, at the end of the day. He won't be going to prison. He will probably win on appeal. And he WILL be elected as the 47th President of the United States, and if the conviction does anything, it SEALS THE DEAL.

@porwest Yeppers. I have many "ideas" that never see the light of day. Right now I'm working on a tune that has a bunch of major sevenths in it. No words. It might pass the test if I ever get it recorded.

@TheHorse I have been working on a few things, but unfortunately nothing new. Always a work in progress as they say. The way it goes for me is I write 10 songs, 1 turns out good enough to "release," and even the one that was good enough to release still sucks. But it sucks less than the other 9.
