World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day

June 2, 2024 7:37pm CST
June 1 is the world narcissistic abuse awareness day.Dealing with a narcissist can have a huge impact on someone's mental health. The narcissists in our lives can be our parent, guardian etc.It is really important that the public be aware that such kind of individuals do really exist. And what is frightening is that these people are taking care of children. Children who are taken care of by a narcissistic parent or guardian grow with low self-esteem and question themselves if there are something wrong with them.Children may not be able to do well on their studies because of the trauma brought by narcissistic abuse.I see the importance that these people be held accountable for their behaviors.Suggesting going no contact to the victims won't be enough.Justice should be served for the victims. I read that narcissism can be the result of poor parenting so we can say there is a problem on parenting why we see lots of videos on narcissism on youtube..Narcissism has been around us for many years but there is nothing clear that has been done on this issue.Unfortunately, the abuse will continue. Have you ever dealt with a narcissist or a difficult person in your life?

Raising awareness about narcissistic abuse is crucial, especially when it comes to protecting children from such harmful behaviors. It's important to acknowledge that the effects of narcissistic abuse can be profound and long-lasting, and victims deserve support and justice.

@elmer0421 Yes, I've heard similar sentiments about the impact of narcissistic parents or guardians. It's concerning how such behavior can affect children's development. While I haven't personally met a diagnosed narcissist, I've encountered individuals who exhibit narcissistic traits.

@annierose it is important that parents or guardians should never treat children the same.Because children have different temperament, parents should let them follow their own path as long as it is for the betterment for their own child..Each child is unique and has a gift to offer to the world. Parenting can be such a great problem. That's why narcissism is so rampant in our society..Narcissism seems to be a global problem.

Our society has been brainwashed about honoring parents by churches and religions when in fact toxic parents do exist.I have never heard news exposing narcissistic parents or guardians..They are the most harmful because they could really affect the development of children.. Have you ever met a narcissist before?

What I understood about them is that some are well known, well respected in the society and when some people were told about them. Other people find hard to believe and suspect you bad mouthing the person.

I have read there are certain MBTI types that are prone to be narcissists so there are more narcissists coming. I see the importance of guidance counsellors in schools since they cater students. For sure many students have silently suffered from narcissistic abuse.

i think we are all a bit narcissistic in some period of our lives but on a daily basis, then we have stuff to worry about. i dealt with one and i decided to say goodbye to that relation. maybe later in life i will be able to tolerate that person again or maybe not. i like true things and true people; i know there are so little of them or maybe the problem lies with me but toxic environment, plus narcissistic person, i can't deal with that.
