First softball game of the season!

We played a "new" team tonight. They were good guys, and decent athletes, but we beat them 28-2. In my younger days, baseball and softball were big parts of my identity. As an old fart, I care more about music and developmental psychology than softball. But I still enjoy playing. I am glad to be home and ready for bed. I am sipping wine and chicken noodle soup. Has sports ever been a part of your life? If so, are you glad that you've "mellowed" with age?

NO, sports have never been part of my life. My husband won several medals in running sports.

@TheHorse - My husband has always been a short-distance runner, high speed, but not for very long time.

I was fortunate enough to play softball for a nationally ranked team in the late 80's. It was a lot of fun traveling to different parts of the US and competing against other top ranked teams. But now that I'm older I've turned to Senior Softball (ages 50+) and enjoyed catching up with lots of old friends. Senior Softball isn't as "cut throat" as playing back in the day but you'd be surprised how competitive older folks can get. The best thing is that when it's all said and done we gather around the pitchers mound and share a prayer for good health and safe travels.

Yep. I enjoy the "bonding" aspect of softball.

@TheHorse - Absolutely. There were so many teammates and opponents that I stayed friends with through the years.

The only sports I like are watching race cars and swimming.

I used t like watching baseball and football on TV. But I don't care as much about professional sports now.

I lie just throwing (warming up) as much as the game itself.

Congratulations on your win. The only sport I was ever good at was volleyball. I'm not very athletic. Have a good day.
