Is it true that no amount of money can buy poverty?

Some people say money can buy everything but love and happiness (although it can rent reasonable facsimiles of them). But do you think money can buy poverty? I guess it could if you wasted it all away gambling.

I am pretty sure that it could. Surely money can bring poverty if you lose everything.

Money might not buy love and happiness but you can be miserable in much more comfort if you have money.

I know everyone here is disgustingly rich, this is more one of those 'what if' questions.

I think that it could, poverty can come in a variety of ways, love and happiness being among them. Everyone that I know who suddenly became a millionaire from winning a lottery was miserable within months as it does leave a person lonely as they have little in common with others. Plus, their cats probably demand really expensive cat food.

If you spend it all frivolously, yes! And ofcause, gambling could help you get rid of all your money quite quickly!

Money cannot buy anything! It buy a house but not a home! It can buy a person's time but not love. It can buy books but not knowledge. Most of all it cannot buy any time or non-material things which are super critical. But money can aid in getting things. Thanks

I do think you can impoverish yourself, even if you have money. It may encourages you to spend more than you need to. Yes, that includes gambling. I could probably impoverish myself buying groceries, or plants.

That is about the right way to look at things. I have no money yet I am happy, blessed, and healthy and able to live from month to month and I like to keep it that way. Then if I am gifted with a large sum of money I know I will appreciate it much more,

Money can be wasted in hundreds of ways. I have no sympathy for someone who throws their money away.

Money can't buy poverty because naturally, the poor and rich were designed to grow together.

I’ve lived in luxury and I’ve lived with very little. The worst time of my life were the years I had more than enough. I. Had a husband that took care to blow every dime he could get his hands on.. I trusted him, and I never should have. Oh, live and learn!
