Thanks to the teamwork of both the United States Coast Guard (USCG) which is stationed in Marblehead Ohio and the Erie County Dispatch Joint Rescue Communications Center (JRCC) they were able to rescue four boaters who were aboard a disabled vessel near Kelley Island on Thursday morning.
The four passengers who were aboard a vessel that needed to be rescued when a USCG sent a response boat to rescue the passengers and take them to safety. The passengers admitted that they not familiar with the Great Lakes.
The USCG has requested passengers to have more than one form of communication when they are in the water since the cellphone that the passengers could not reach a cellphone tower.
The emergency call for help was successful at first before the communications went dead before the JRCC were able to contact the USCG.

That's great teamwork from the USCG and JRCC! It's so important for boaters to be prepared and have multiple forms of communication. Glad to hear everyone is safe!
