Our Washer isn't Working Right

We got a new washer in Jan, 2024. Jay was happy with it, until the silly machine started doing strange things. Whichever knob he uses, the washer does something else. We have a repairman coming on Monday, to find out what's wrong with it. Surely, it's not worn out, after only a short while owning it. There won't be any charges, for this service. I'm glad they're not charging you. I think appliances these days are designed to break down within a few years.

@kobesbuddy It should be under full warranty for a year. If it's not right, have Jay sit on them until you get a new one. They just don't make things like they used to.

@Tampa_girl7 I was thinking the same thing. But, these appliances are computerized, they often need to be reprogrammed.

It sounds frustrating dealing with the washer issues, but at least the repair service won't cost anything. Hopefully, the repairman can quickly fix the problem for you.

@kobesbuddy You're right, Kharla! It's amazing how even appliances have complex systems now. Hopefully, reprogramming will be a quick fix and get things back on track. Have you had to deal with this before?

Every appliance has a computer system. The machine goes haywire and needs to be reprogrammed.

Sounds like you might've gotten a defective unit. You're right it shouldn't short curcut like that in less than a year.

We are disappointed, Amana used to be so dependable and durable.

I have found I do not like my washer. It does not work hard enough to clean out all the dirt. It is HE--high efficiency. The more complicated they get, the less they last.

This one was made cheaply, it's very flimsy and not well made. The dependable Amana products have changed.

Jay likes to use the washer, to soak his whites and of course, wash clothes.

Best of luck to you and I hope it gets fixed. We have a washer set up here for everyone to use because there are no places to do laundry otherwise, I only have to do some laundry about every other month. So today I got down under the porch and put in my laundry turn on the machine to fill and go back upstairs, I come down late the water is till going into the machine???? Went to my friend Nick who set up the machine one of his intelligent grown up sons did some laundry late at night when he came home from work and somehow pulled out a hose. So the water was going in and right out of the machine LOL Nick fixed it and I did my laundry,

Nothing lasts these days. Our 20-year old washer is making strange noises now. If we get a new one, it won't last 10 years. Have a good weekend.
