Devices you have to access the Net

As you know there are several gadgets - desktop, laptop, tablet, smart phone......connected to ISPs
I have stuck to my loyal and faithful desktop with an airtel dongle that lets me access the Net with ease. I would not be comfortable to work on a smart phone with the tiny screen. I just have two feature phones that lets me talk and send text messages The camera captures photos even of birds in flight with the zoom feature.
What do you have?

It's great that you've found what works best for you with your desktop and feature phones. Having reliable tools that suit your needs is so important.

I don’t like laptops so I gave that to my dad (he had loaned it to me), and I liked my Kindle, but then someone I know lost my charger. So now, I exclusively use my smartphone, and I prefer it. The screen isn’t too small for me, although I hear a lot of people echo your sentiment. I like desktops, but I’m just satisfied with my smartphone for now.
*I know I could buy another charger for my Kindle, but I had started to get disillusioned with that thing anyway.

@allknowing A Kindle Fire allows you to get on the internet, and do whatever you normally do online. The first time I got one it was like a dream come true. It used to be my only internet source before I got a smartphone. You can also take pictures and post them with it.

Is there any harm if you keep the others idle? what about ISPs for all your devices?

@allknowing I have Wi-Fi through spectrum which connects all my devices, including my smart home (lights, smart speakers, security system etc). My phone and smart watch also use the same Wi-Fi while I'm home, then the internet/data when out in public. (although my phone did connect to the VA wi-Fi for some reason when I was there last) And, it's okay for devices to be idol when not in use. My smart watch, is a watch, so it's not really idol. my phone gets use on a regular basis, too. But you mentioned having a feature phone, well, it's no different. Your phone is there when you need it, and sleeping when you're not.

@allknowing A desktop is the easiest to upgrade, you can replace the Hard Disk for more storage and you can replace the monitor with a larger one if you need. I like my desktop computer a lot more than my small laptop.

Tablet has a larger screen compared to the smart phone and that helps better maneuverability

@Beestring Then it is fine. If the laptop is not shifted then what is the difference between a desktop and a laptop?

Laptop has a big screen and it is very convenient and the only issue could be that you need to recharge it if I am right unlike the deskktop which is on direct current.

@allknowing No need to recharge because I just plug it into the power outlet. I don't need to take my laptop out.

I have two lap tops that two of my sons gave me over ten years ago and both still work really good. I have a desk top that still works that is over ten years old. I have a tablet that my daughter gave me and a smart phone that I had to buy new a year ago. I do not like using the smart phone my fingers are to big to use on the key board.

You have a wide choice. I agree with you. Seniors find it difficult to work on touch keyboards

Thanks for sharing! I rely on my desktop for most of my internet activities, finding its larger screen and keyboard more comfortable for work and browsing. When I'm on the move, my mobile phone is my go-to device for quick access to the internet and staying connected.

I am a home body and that is why I do not feel the need for a laptop or a smart phone I understand why you have a smart phone
Enjoy your devices.

I used to use a laptop, but in the past 8 years, I have hardly used a computer and have been using a smartphone at home. During the day, I use an office computer in the company
