Well not really vacations aint a thing in our family. its too expensive.

My dad doesn’t like anyone making a fuss about his birthday, but I did get him a card that will make him laugh, and a nice gift.
As for my niece’s 13th birthday, I think my sister is inviting a lot of the family for a big celebration. I have her presents and I even found a gift bag that plays “Happy birthday” when you open it. I think she’ll like it. I just want it to be a day for her to remember since 13 is so special.

@AmbiePam That sounds perfect! Your dad will surely appreciate the thoughtful card and gift, especially if it brings a smile to his face. And for your niece, the big family celebration and the musical gift bag sound like wonderful touches to make her 13th birthday extra memorable. Wow, I was going to ask you when Amyra's birthday was, imagine that! 
Your Dad has a big month, with yesterday, father's day approaching and his birthday-I hope that he soaks up all of the love and attention as he certainly sounds like he deserves it.
I am sure that you will fuss over Amyra's birthday, and so you should as you are so close.
My birthday is in July, and our son and daughter-in-law's 7th wedding anniversary is on August 25th.
Then we go a while until September which is when Ellie the do's birthday is, as well as our son and his wife's birthdays. We usually combine theirs as they are less than a week apart, and it is alot of fun to combine them and go really big with the celebration.

What day in July? My mom’s was July too, as was my grandmother’s.
I did a lot of saving up gift certificates for Amyra’s birthday. I got her a digital camera and put it in a gift bag that sings happy birthday when you open it. I also found a really cute purse I think she’ll fall for. My sister is going to put up a lot of balloons, and she ordered a professional cake. Since it’s age 13 we wanted to make a bigger deal than usual.

We have no summer birthdays in my family except for my oldest son, in August. They pile up in the wintertime, it seems, but not in summers.
Vacations? This year? What is this vacation thing, of which you speak?
