Lost my temper over a torn bill

Philippines
June 15, 2024 1:56am CST
When I went to 7-11 and bought some water and news paper. I tried to be generous by giving a smaller bill but he gave me change with a bill that is ripped but not totally torn. I demanded to replace it but he refused. Until I realized it wasn't worth the hassle since I was so hungry I went out and left the door open Then when I went to pay my utility bill but I also received a torn bill. This time I didn't complain and fix it wtih a tape. With the last bill I paid it for a lottery ticket, the staff looked twice over the old bill. Good thing she accepted it. I knew I shouldn't get mad like that but I lacked sleep and they didn't collect the trash early in the morning. I did compose myself and realized how wrong I acted. But I didn't come back to that store to apologize he might abuse it. There are people who had it worst than that. I won't go to jail on that petty excuse like that. The amount was just half a dollar Have a nice day.

I am sorry you had to deal with that stress. We bring the thorn bills to the bank for replacement.

@Letranknight2015 You need to have a regular account with the bank, this is correct.

Half a dollar, in more ways than one? We now have bills made from some sort of plastic... very difficult to tear.

@Letranknight2015 There is a high chance of getting robbed with cash. With electric bills, if you are good as hiding your phone, robbers will get nothing.

I don't complain over a worn-out bill. Instead I pay it on my next purchase. Vendors at wet markets accept worn-out bills instantly.

Maybe I should have gone to the market instead @rachz_kisses but i did repair that bill. It was due to lackof sleep that i lost control.
