Botanical Garden at Eden - Eden Gardens at Calcutta. The lush environ is also the venue for exotic plant and flower exhibitions.
Lara played a one-dayer in the country was way back in the 1996 World Cup against India at Gwalior and the last Test match at Mohali in 1995. And he knows he will not get to play much here again, as he is nearing the twilight of his international career. “I will be coming back in January (for a one-day series), and after that I really cannot predict for how long I am going to play, and especially in this part of the world. But my dream, of course, is to play a Test match at the Eden Gardens,” said Lara. The Ground is Named after Lord Auckland's sister, this picturesque garden has a tiny Burmese pagoda set in a small lake. It also houses Calcutta's Beautiful Cricket Stadium.

Eden Cricket Ground - Howrah Bridge – which links Howrah with Kolkata - and Vidyasagar Setu Bridge - the longest cable stayed bridge in Asia - are the two major bridges in Kolkata. Some of the important sporting venues in Kolkata are Eden Gardens Stadium, Netaji Indoor Stadium, Royal Calcutta Turf Club, Salt Lake Stadium, and Rabindra Sarobar Stadium. There are many parks and gardens in Kolkata such as Eden Gardens, the Indian Botanical Gardens in South Howrah, Maidan, Nalban Boating Complex, Victoria Memorial Hall Lawn, Shahid Bhagat Singh Park, Nicco Park, and Zoological Gardens.
India has an even record at the Eden Gardens. In the last six tests, it has won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2; and won the toss only once. Interestingly, the last four test matches have all produced results and the team that won the toss has chosen to bat first.

Both are historic grounds. But the crowd off late at Calcutta's Eden Gardens are restless and create nuisance at the ground for spectators, as well as players. They are liked football fans, throwing bottles etc. Whereas Wankade Stadium gets matured crowd, genuine cricket fans. Capacity wise, Calcutta stands first.
