Most of us enjoy nuts such as almonds, peanuts, walnuts..... but never get to see the trees or plants on which they grow. While I have grown peanuts that develop under ground I saw walnut trees while we were on a tour of Kashmir.
We also saw walnuts kept for drying in the sun. They are green in colour and then turn yellow.
I would love to see apricots on trees

There are some very large walnut trees near our home. The large grey grackles pick up the walnuts, eat the content and then they drop the shells into our pond!
My apricots tree has no apricots this year, the bad weather, too much rain and the hail have destroyed everything.

Can you not harvest those walnuts before they are grabbed? I think you should wait for next year for your apricots.
Weather has spoiled everything for us - even our jackfruits and mangoes did not yield the way they always do.

@allknowing - Those trees are in a private property, we cannot harvest them. When we walk I pick up the walnuts that I find on the ground.
This is going to be a very bad year both for fruits and vegetables.

They look like guava when green. Walnuts prevent brain stroke.

We have walnut trees here. We just let them drop to the ground. Then they are ready

That's true. I'm fond of eating nuts but haven't seen the plant. Peanuts, I know they've grown underground because we have them at our farm. But almonds, walnuts... I just ate them.

Walnuts have a layer of green skin on the outside, and after peeling off the skin, there is a hard yellow skin inside

We had 5 walnut trees at my grandma's house (she raised me). My hands were black or dark dark green hulling them when I was little. Had a Crab Apple Tree as well. Love chewing on them. Down here where I live there are Pecan trees. Love all Nuts..Nature and Human. LOL

There they are. I have seen black walnuts on trees. They are in a fuzzy green pod. That looks more like a bush than a tree.
