California burning... why are our friends not listening and moving out

I hope Pony is safe...and so is his cat and his instruments...and his vehicle. I grudgingly say his clothes too, though he wears boring colors...kinda, nobody wants him to parade naked on California streets....it will slow down the traffic mostly. Ok...seriously, hope all of you from California are safe...please move out...

I had not yet read about the California wildfire, I see that it's near Sacramento, so Pony should be safe.

I hadn't either, but if you say he's safe, I'm glad.

TheHorse did mention some fires but I don't think they are near him. I hope not.

He mentioned smoke he could see. He also mentioned around 70 miles from his place, and he also mentioned that he will sleep. Why is he so ...frustrating...in his shoes I would pack whatever, and move down further away from the fire for a couple of days...because 12000 acres burning with only 2 percent doused is not a good news.

@JudyEv Yesterday's news...I haven't checked today's as yet.... Americans are way too optimistic. AND UNREALISTIC. They should learn how to play Cricket. Then they will know anything can happen.
A Southern California wildfire doubled in size overnight causing the evacuation of more than 1,000 campers from a park.

@vandana7 That's true. I didn't know the details and didn't realise it was so close.

I am in Los Angeles, much further south from TheHorse. The current wildfires are a far distance from us, but we still saw the reddish smoke on the horizon. We have ashes all over and poor air quality. I don't want to say we are used to wildfires and earthquakes, but I guess that's part of CA living. We live in the center of a big valley, so I am confident we are safe from the fires. We were born and raised here, we don't know where else we would move to .

At least keep track of what is happening. The last I heard 15600 acres were burning. Humanly impossible to douse. Only 8 percent has been contained so far...Interstate 5...time to read through this. Hugs. Please don't be in denial.

@vandana7 Oh yah, for sure we are definitely keeping a watch on the news about it. I believe they are at 61% containment now but so much has already burned down - and there is so much more to do to completely contain it. They do try to get ahead of the fire paths with controlled fires, retardants, and whatever techniques they have in place - it doesn't all get doused, but eventually they will tackle it (though so much will inevitably be unfortunately lost in the meantime). Looking on the map, Gorman is way closer to LA than the Bay Area, but still Gorman is pretty far from here. We do get local BAD hill fires every now and then, but still we are fortunately never in the direct fire path. Thank you for your concern and hugs, Vanny .

That was yesterday post. Today the news is more scary. And he did say it was about 70 miles...that is not too far for a raging fire. 12000 acres with only 2 percent doused...Pony needs sense drilled in his head..

@wolfgirl569 In my 65 years, I have never ever experienced tornado, hurricane, forest fire, devastating flood, devastating earthquake...I have enough reasons to love my country despite politicians being scumbags.

Pony is safe at the present time. I was hoping that CA wouldn't get wildfires again this year.
