The day after

Hope yesterday-Father's Day-was a good day for you all. I know many of you, like me, remembered a father who is no longer here. And many of you are blessed to still have your dad. We really enjoyed our kids being here this weekend (Robert, Nathan, Tammy, Jay, and Landon). I cooked a big dinner with some help from Tammy...the boys helped as they could, lol. Gifts were opened, but the best part was that evening sitting around talking. The two boys weren't even on their phones every minute, which was nice. They stayed at Robert's that night and they all met us at church Sunday morning. Dale preached a good Father's Day message and I sang "You'll Always be a Child in My Eyes." Afterwards, Tammy and Jay treated us all to lunch at a local buffet. We spent the rest of the day looking at the garden, walking to the field behind our house (well, they did, I didn't do much walking), the boys riding the four wheeler, and just enjoying time together. I miss them already! But I got some great news this morning. I have an appointment tomorrow for the ablation procedure on my lower back. Yay!! Please say a prayer that everything goes well and will work. Love to all of you, but God loves you most of all.

I'm so glad you had a lovely time with family. I miss that. I am so happy to hear that you will get your back procedure done. I hope it solves your pain problem. Is yours in the bones or is it a muscle? I have a muscle that keeps cramping in my lower back to the point that sometimes I can't walk. I wonder if a shot would help something like that? Just curious. Have a good day.

Mine is collapsed spinal discs (from old age, lol) and severe arthritis. The same things are wrong with my neck, but I hope I can get a steroid injection there later. It actually hurts more than my back for several weeks now. Always something, isn't it? Your doctor can find out what's causing your pain and maybe an injection could help. There are so many options now other than surgery. How's your husband? When do you get to visit again?

@LindaOHio Give him our love and tell him God is healing and blessing both of you. And hopefully that loud roommate will leave soon.

@1creekgirl Sounds like some of the same problems I have -- spinal stenosis, scoliosis, herniated and collapsed discs. Good luck with the neck injections. Ouch! Yes, the older we get the more that goes wrong. Hubby is doing OK but he wants to throw his roommate out because of his loud TV. He overheard his physical therapy guy say that he might be going home soon. I probably won't be able to visit until next week. Have a good day.

I pray things go well for you. I'm you're getting it, whatever it is. That's great. Sounds like you had a good father's day. George didn't even realize today was father's day.

I'm sorry, is George still improving? The ablation I'm having is kind of burning the nerve ends near the discs in my lower back to stop the severe pain. It's out patient at the Pain Clinic by a doctor and involves a series of injections at the site. If it works, I should have a lot of relief for about a year.

@1creekgirl Yay? I hope that works, then. And, yes, he is. He's starting to act a little more like himself everyday and doing things like brush his teeth. So, I'm happy for that.
