I have always enjoyed the true Crime shows, even before it was "cool" to watch them. I was watching Americas Most Wanted I think before I could read, and I started reading when I was four or five. So I have always had a special interest on the darker things. Murder mysteries, missing people, etc.
I am in the process of doing the research for an article on arguably one of the most infamous murderers in the last several years.
Any guesses on who it is?
If you guessed Gypsy Rose, then ding ding ding you are a winner.
Anyway, I have been reading the case notes/court notes on her murder case, and the more I learn about her and learn about who she really is, I am starting to realize just how she had everyone fooled.
I know the story is that her mom had her on lockdown and her mother was a horrible person. Which I am sure she was not a great person. But the way Gypsy manipulates people, changes her stories and everything depending on the mood, situation and who she needs to feel sorry for you, makes me think that there was a whole lot more going on and she just changed the story and narrative for people to feel sorry for her so she had a reason to get away with murder.
Anyway, are you a true Crime Buff? Have you followed this case at all?

I like all the fiction Murder Mystery shows. From Agatha Christie's Poirot, to the current Mystery Movie Murder shows on the W network.
Occasionally, I'll watch a documentary on a real crime.
I did watch the mini series, The Thing About Pam. So, yeah i'm interested after it's been dramatized and made into entertainment. That might send me to do a bit more reading after watching the entertainment.

@thislittlepennyearns it was based on the murderer Pam Hupp. But I don't know how much was changed for the mini series.

@paigea Oh I don't know anything about that murderer.
Lol. When was it? The actual murders, is it something recent?

I don't think that was based on her life? Was it?

You made me curious and did some researching in the internet. You could be correct about her getting away with murder. Gypsy Rose was a victim of child abuse by her mother who was suffering from Munchhausen by proxy (MBP).
Could Gypsy's prolong traumatize childhood abuse led to the development in her of a multiple personality disorder as a coping mechanism for survival? It's possible that among those personality is a sociopath/psychopath. A persona with no empathy, remorse and highly manipulative. Her boyfriend may have thought he did it for love, but he was mentally slow and Gypsy took advantage of it.
Today Gypsy Rose estimate worth is $3 million and climbing from movie and book rights. She use to have 8 million Instagram followers before she deleted her account. Meanwhile her boyfriend is still in prison.

My mom had me watching America’s Most Wanted in the early 1990s (much to my dad’s consternation), and I began to love The First 48, Cold Case, Unsolved Mysteries, and Forensic Files. Now, I watch Disappeared and Still a Mystery.
I saw an interview with Gypsy Rose’s dad once, and he seemed to believe her (at the time). However, she seems so shady just from what she has said since she got out of jail.

Why? The murder mysteries are the least of the depressing ones to me. Plus with the internet, you can almost do all the digging into cases without the show, its like a puzzle.

I have my moments. I do like true crime stories, but only in small doses. I can only handle so much depressing and negative stuff after all.

I do not know the case but I do love murder stories both fiction and real, I sometimes watch 48 Hours on YouTube. I got really interest in the British series Midsomer Murders and just got the first season DVDs. I am no longer on the writing site HubPages but my writer name there was Gypsy Rose Lee, Sounds like an interesting story, I will check it out on YouTube, Good luck with the article,
