Today would have been my Mom's 80th birthday. I sure miss her.
Mom was born in Newfoundland, Canada in 1944. Her dad (the grandfather I never met) died when she was 13. She and my grandmother came down here to live when a family friend, the man I grew up calling (maternal) Grandpa, wrote to my Grandmother asking her to come down and live with him. Mom was 18. While Grandpa was a citizen, Mom and Grandma never became citizens. I used to envy Mom a bit when one of those political calls came in and I assume they asked her if she voted and she'd say, "Sorry, I'm not a citizen." so they'd leave her alone.
I sure miss Mom.
Love you, Mommy.

Loss is hard. You are doing her justice I am sure.

I have voted all my life, except when a Dictator was in office. Life goes by in a hurry. Next year I´ll be 80.
