Settling in

I just ate a little salad. I needed the tofu and the lettuce. I'm home where I make the meals. Solid zero grease and zero oil in my supper feels good. (Yes I plan to sneak in a bite of carrot cake soon.) Our trip to Victoria was glorious and sweet. And in all that sweetness, physical pain. I won't hide the fact that I am a little over fifteen years younger than the bulldog 95 year old woman who was in the tour bus also. AND the tour guide man kept an eye on my husband and I more than he did that 95 year old. Oh well. I'm a physical mess and hubby has been ill so on we went. Memories! Memory after memory piled up for us in Victoria. Smart idea: I had a cab called for us. The cabbie took us to the top of the tourist street. We walked downhill toward our hotel. We were blessed. We ran into the new age shop that we visited years ago. Oh my the money poured right out of our pockets as we decided on lovely Goddess pendants and a Canadian blown glass blue heart. If I am going to spend money in Canada I want the money going to either Canadian made products or Irish- we came home with an Irish plaid purse. Last day we were supposed to go to the Stonehedge museum exhibit. That would do nothing for hubby so we opted to leave the group and head down to the harbor. We happened on a sweet harbor tour operator. His little 20 foot boat ran on electrical power so it was quiet and had no diesel fuel to smell. That hour spent low on the water really made our visit to Victoria perfect. Today I am pretty brain dead but delighted to be home. No I did not get the grass mowed though it sure needs a trim. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.

@JudyEv I came home exhausted even though I didn't have to drive. Its at least a four hour drive to the ferry. Very pretty and over two long bridges.

It sounds like a great trip. Who watches your pets when you go away?

@snowy22315 I could write a book about the wonderful lady that helps us. She is a fantastic gardener plus animal magnet. She had soft natured Moxe pup at her house then came back to my house to care for Rufus and the cats. She also did some weeding. I came home to find that she had left me a glorious bouquet from her yard. Unreal and much appreciated. I gave her 100. She deserves far more for all the loving attention that she dished out.

It sounds absolutely amazing. Although, I wish you could have seen the exhibit (I understand being a good travel partner though).

@MarieCoyle Thanks. I am glad I was able to go too. For many reasons this could be the last time I visit Victoria.

@sallypup I treasure any trips I get to take, and store them in my memories for future enjoyment. I know we all wonder, ''will I ever return?'' none of us knows what our futures hold. I find myself just going one day at a time.

Sounds like a lovely tour. My grass is going begging, but will be cared for this week. We will leave for a vacation a week from tomorrow morning. It sounds like your tour was lovely for both of you.
