Celebrity singer's sudden loss of hearing

A common viral infection - cold, cough and sore throat has resulted in this celebrity singer Alka Yagnik losing her hearing.
No news as yet whether she can get back her hearing but among other things what can lead to such mishaps is to listen to loud music
I have now stopped using head phones.
